The fifth China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation opened on July 17 in the city of Nyingchi, Xizang. This year's forum focused on the theme of “Promoting Green Development and Building a Beautiful Home Together,” fully demonstrating the shared will and firm resolve of countries across the Trans-Himalayan region to work together to address challenges and safeguard their common home.

The opening ceremony was attended by officials from Cambodia, the Republic of Korea, Chile and Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of international sister cities from countries including the United States, Argentina and Maldives. Also present were ambassadors to China from Bangladesh, Belarus and Serbia, representatives from the embassies of Mongolia and Peru in China, experts and scholars from Russia, Germany, Denmark, Singapore and Bhutan, and representatives of friendship figures from France, Italy, Switzerland and Australia.
Since 2018, the Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation has been successfully held four times. Since then, the forum has continuously expanded its “circle of friends” through multilevel and wide-ranging exchanges, attracting leaders and representatives from various sectors from more than 20 countries, and producing consensus documents such as the Nyingchi Initiative. Following the policy of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness toward neighboring countries, China remains committed to the principle of fostering an amicable, secure and prosperous neighborhood and stands ready to share development opportunities with countries in the region and jointly advance high-quality development through high-standard ecological and environmental protection.
