The 7th National Ethnic Minorities Arts Festival is being held from August 18 to September 23 at 13 venues across Beijing. The event showcases outstanding artistic works from ethnic groups across China, featuring a diverse array of genres, including musical and dance dramas, original stage plays, traditional operas, contemporary musicals, children’s theater, and ethnic symphonic poems.

Among them, a selection of acclaimed productions from Xizang, Qinghai and the Western Sichuan Plateau will take center stage. These works incorporate such intangible cultural heritage art forms as Tibetan opera, Guozhuang dance, Reba dance and traditional Tibetan folk music into contemporary stage presentations, weaving a poetic tapestry unique to the highlands and making this highland arts segment one of the festival’s most distinctive highlights.
