On July 11, the Dayu Tribal Camp on the Jinyintan Grassland in Haiyan County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, was filled with laughter and excitement as more than 100 teachers and students participating in the Hong Kong–Macao Youth Study Tour gathered with local students from different ethnic groups to make new friends.

During the event, the participants dressed in traditional Tibetan attire, shared butter tea, and sampled local delicacies alongside their new friends. During a break, Hong Kong students spontaneously sang Cantonese songs, while local students responded with melodious ethnic folk songs.

As night fell, a bonfire was lit and brilliant fireworks illuminated the sky above the grassland, bringing the day’s joy and friendship to a memorable climax.
Before parting, the students exchanged WeChat contacts and promised to stay in touch. Many of the Hong Kong students said this meeting was only the beginning. They hoped to keep in contact with their friends in Qinghai and return to the grassland one day to deepen the friendships they had begun.
