China Delivers Emergency Aid to Nepal at Lizi Port, Xizang

2026-09-05  |

On September 4, 2026, emergency relief supplies from Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region were officially handed over to Nepal at Lizi Port in Xigaze. At the port, a bilingual banner in Chinese and Nepali read: “Share Mountains and Rivers, United in Weal and Woe: Xizang Rushes Aid to Nepal”, a testament to the friendship and mutual support between China and Nepal in times of disaster.

The shipment includes Bailey panels, reinforced suspension rods, support frames, bridge decking, and I-beams, which are sufficient to assemble two Bailey bridges to help restore transportation links in areas of Nepal affected by the mudslides.

At a handover ceremony in Lhasa, Nepal’s Consul General in Lhasa, Lakshmi Prasad Nirola, signed the handover certificate and expressed gratitude for China’s swift response following the disaster.

The Nepali side said the assistance from the Xizang Autonomous Region demonstrates the deep friendship and mutual support between China and Nepal and exemplifies the China-Nepal community with a shared future.
