The 21st Conference of the United Nations Day of Vesak opened on May 26 in the city of Wuxi, east China's Jiangsu Province, marking the first time China has hosted this global Buddhist gathering. Tampalawela Dhammaratana, Vice President of the International Council for the Day of Vesak (ICDV), said: “We are waiting for a long time to come to this great country.”
